Title: Polarimetry

1
Polarimetry
  • Polarization is the Orientation of the Electric
Vector (E) in an Electro Magnetic Wave,
frequently "Horizontal" (H) or "Vertical" (V) in
    conventional imaging radar systems. Polarization
    is Established by the Antenna.
  • Complete State of scattered Electromagnetic Wave
described by the Scattering Matrix S, which
connectsthe Received Field Vector Er with the
    Transmitted Field Vector Et. (Börner)
  • Scattering Matrix Decomposition into 3 Components
    (Example Sperical Basis)
