    Marlowes version.
  • Goethe started writing Faust when he was in his
    20s (born 1749-died in 1832)

  • God makes a bet with the Devil (Mephistopheles)
  • Faust starts a journey with Mephistopheles for
    true satisfaction
  • Faust falls in love with Margarete (Gretchen)
  • Margarete goes crazy after getting pregnant and
    kills her baby but is later redeemed.

  • He is rumored to be a spirit of the dead and will

  • He was not featured in Marlowes version. Neither
    was the concept of Walpurgis Night.
