1. INCIDENT Water truck was heading north on
a snow packed single lane road through a blind
corner, when an approaching southbound pickup
started sliding, striking the water truck on the
drivers side.

• 3. LEARNINGS
• The icy condition of the road was underestimated
  and the drivers of both vehicles were driving too
  fast for conditions.
• If the vehicles had been chained up or in
  four-wheel drive (pick-up) the incident could
  have been prevented.
• The use of overhead vehicle flags could have
  alerted the other driver that that there was a
  vehicle approaching.
