Preparation for mainline (re-) construction works

  • Agreements made in advance for 2000-2006
  • 1.always 2 main tracks available for scheduled
    trains
  • 2. 4 weekends per year for main steps in
    (re-)construction plan no trains
    Amsterdam-Breukelen-Utrecht
  • 3. measures in the train schedule to help
    construction works in the intervals between the
    weekends

  • All agreements are made to prevent hindrance in
    the periods between the main construction steps
  • WIN WIN situation ProRail and t.o.c.s

  • Dispatcher to be in service visits the
    discussion(s) of the construction script
  • Disturbance co-ordinator to be in service visits
    the the discussion(s) of the construction script
  • If dispatcher and safety leader maintenance
    company meet in advance, co-operation is always
    better

  • Specifik information (based on the script of the
    construction work) is provided for all the
    dispatchers and announcers in service
  • Dispatchers are involved in the making of the WBI
    (the rail-work-safety document)

Working-method during the weekends(1)
  • Disturbance co-ordinator acts in the ProRail
    project - decision team (possibility of direct
    use of the ProRail Railsystem Disturbance Plans)
  • Fixed decision- and communication points of time
    are part of the construction script

  • The result of this
  • 1. no unexpected run-out of time or/and
    functional reductions on Monday morning
  • 2. there is more time to make up alternative
    train-schedules in the period Sunday evening
