Title: Thermal Physics

1
Thermal Physics
  • Heat Physics

2
Internal Energy
  • Internal Energy of a system equals the sum of a
random distribution of kinetic and potential
energies associated with the molecules of the
    system.

3
Temperature Rise
  • A rise in internal energy of body will result in
    a higher temperature.

4
Kelvin Scale
  • There is an absolute scale of temperature which
does not depend upon the physical property of any
    particular substance.
  • On the thermodynamic scale (Kelvin), absolute
zero is at that temperature at which all
substances have a minimum internal energy.

5
Thermodynamic Scale
  • 1 Kelvin 1 degree Celsius
  • 0 Kelvin -273 degree Celsius
  • 273 Kelvin 0 degree Celsius
  • 373 Kelvin 100 degree Celsius
