Gadget gifts your kids will love

Technology touches all ages. Yes, the world tends
to focus on the smartphones and the tablets that
keep the wheels of commerce and entertainment
humming. Generally, it's a world for adults. But
not everything is aimed at the salaried set.
There are tech toys meant to fill children with
wonder, teach them about the broader world -- or
simply make them laugh in joy. And, of course,
there are video games, which can entertain
anyone. Here are some of the more interesting
tech-oriented gifts for the children and
teenagers. LeapFrog LeapPad Ultra. WowWee
Robosapien X. Speck iGuy rubberized iPad
cover. PlayStation4. Xbox One. Skullcandy
Aviator headphones.

  • More than 90 heads of state are on their way to
South Africa for what is expected to be the
largest gathering of world leaders in Africa's
history. It's a clear sign of what kind of impact
Nelson Mandela left on the world. President
Barack Obama heads to Johannesburg on Monday for
Mandela's official memorial service, which will
take place Tuesday in the city's soccer stadium.
But the 90,000 seats probably won't be enough to
house the many mourners wanting to pay thanks to
    the great anti-apartheid leader.
  • Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra dissolved
the nation's parliament Monday and called for new
elections. But the move did little to appease
anti-government protesters who remained on the
streets by the thousands. Between 100,000 and
150,000 demonstrators rallied in Bangkok, with
protest leaders saying their goal Monday is to
storm Shinawatra's office, known as Government
House. The country will hold new elections by
February 2, but embattled Prime Minister Yingluck
Shinawatra may not be her party's choice to run,
a government spokesman told CNN on Monday.
