  • As you witnessed in the warm up question, many of
    Romes achievements and cultural advances were
    based off of Greek ideas
  • This blend of cultures was later referred to as
    Greco-Roman

  • During Roman Republic many writers used Greek
    Language because it was created by the great
    philosophers and most well-known throughout
    Mediterranean
  • This changed when poets began to write in Latin
    to create their own tradition and identity
