• There are over 1,000,000 types of insects in the
  world. They may look very different but guess
  what?
• They all have the same main body parts!
• In todays lesson,
• we will learn about those body parts.

Head Thorax Abdomen Legs (6) Antennae
(2) Compound Eyes

3 Main Body Segments

• 1) Head has eyes, antennae and mouth parts.
• 2) Thorax middle, where legs and wings attach.
• 3) Abdomen end, has stomach and eggs.

Other required equipment

• Legs 6 jointed legs.
• Antennae 2 feelers to sense the world around
  them.
• Compound Eyes thousands of tiny little eyes to
  see detail.

• Wings 2 or 4 attached to thorax.
