- Indicate the type of card (summary, quote,
paraphrase, statistic, own idea.) - Record the page number.

- Word-for-word from the source
- Use quotation marks.
- Same punctuation
- Used to enhance or back-up your point
- Indicate speaker if NOT the person who wrote the
article, etc.
10PARAPHRASE CARD
- Same information in YOUR OWN WORDS
- About same length as original
- Used when you need specific details/opinions (but
not a quote)

- Main idea in your own words
- Shorter than the original - usually much shorter
- Used to remember a general idea
