Land and Water Conservation Fund Act Passed
by Congress in Sept. 1964, effective Jan.
1965. Funding issued to the state. The state
has discretion over how much funding will be
available for local governments. Since 1965 Ohio
has received over 140 million. Over ½ of this
funding has been used for local parks projects.
