Title: Book Letters!
1Book Letters!
Are you tired of teachers assigning
books for you to read? Do you want some freedom
to choose your own book? Here is your chance!
This year I will be assigning book letter
projects, which allow you to choose what youll
read! Remember, as Eighth graders you are
required to read twenty five books this school
year. Two books you read over the summer can be
included in this total. Here are the details for
the book letter
Requirements
- Your book letter should be in the format of a
friendly letter and addressed to Mr. Luckowski.
In the body of the letter you need to include the
following in separate paragraphs - Title and author of the book in your first
paragraph - A brief summary (At least three paragraphs)
- The authors style (Is there difficult
vocabulary? Was the novel fiction, nonfiction,
or another style? How did the author develop
characters? From what point of view is the
novel?) Be sure to provide examples. - Your reflections (Did you like it? What
didnt/did you like about the novel? What could
have made the book better? What was your favorite
part? What parts made you think? What was the
author trying to show you through the actions of
the characters? What is the theme?) Be sure to
provide examples. - Your connections (How did you connect with the
book? Have you had a similar experience as one
of the characters in the story? Have you seen a
movie or TV show with the same theme? Have you
