- The difference in the data transmission speed as
shown on the previous page, is not an issue due
to the fact that - When data are sent by ACARS using VHF Data Radio
the transmission speed is 2.4 KBPS - When data are sent by ACARS using HF Data Radio
the maximum transmission speed is 1.8 KBPS - When the ACARS Ground Stations process the
downlink message, they communicate between
them at a speed of 2.4 KBPS during message
recomposition before delivery to the end user. - Conclusion
- The high data transmission speed available
through the INMARSAT network does not provide any
advantage when data are transmitted by ACARS.
