other kinds of music, as jazz, salsa, bossanova

Hows the climate?
  • Spains climate is continental, except in the
Mediterranean with warm winter softness caused by
the proximity of the Atlantic Ocean, and with
scarce rain in autumn and winter.
  • In the summer the weather is warm/hot. The
temperature is between 30º and 35ºC. In autumn
the temperature is between 12º and 17º C. In

A landscape that you love
  • This is La fageda den Jordà, a beautiful
forest situated in La Garrotxa (Girona). This is
a volcanic zone but the volcanos are inactive.

11
A favourite poem of yours
  • This is a Spanish poem. Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer
wrote this poem and it talks about love.
No volverán!

12
A product of your country
  • Cava is similar to champagne. It is good for
special celebrations. In the region of Penedés
(Catalonia) there are plenty of cava factories.

13
A recipe from your country
  • PAELLA
  • Sauté onion, parsley and garlic in olive oil
until the onion begins to become transparent. Add
saffron, chicken bullion, chicken, peppers and
sauté until chicken has become white. Add tomato
sauce, sugar, food colouring. Stir. Add rice and
water and bring to boil. Salt to taste. Boil 5
minutes, stirring occasionally. Add shrimps and
scallops, boil and additional 5 minutes, stirring
occasionally, Simmer 10 minutes covered, stirring
occasionally. If the rice appears to be getting
too dry during the last 10 minutes, add more
water. If the rice is too wet at the end of the
10 minutes, uncover and evaporate unwanted
    liquid.
  • Enjoy!!

14
A proverb that you like
  • En abril, lluvias mil.
  • It means that in April it rains a lot because the
    weather is changing.

15
A famous person
  • His majesty the king was born on 5th January 1938
in Rome where the Royal Family was living, having
had to leave Spain when the Republic was
proclaimed in 1931. His parents were Juan de
Borbón y Battenberg, Count of Barcelona and Head
of the Spanish Royal Household since his father,
king Alfonso XIII, relinquished his status, and
Maria de las Mercedes de Borbón y Orleans.
  • At the express wish of his father, he was
educated in Spain as from the age of ten, after a
period as a boarder at the Marianist school in
the Swiss town of Freeburg. His parents,
meanwhile, had been living since 1946 in the
coastal town of Estoril, in Portugal.
