International orientation

• 90 pct of all fishing in Norway involves stocks
  shared with other nations
• Most of the fish landed is exported
• Total export value of fish and fishproducts is
  about 3,6 billion dollars

WTO-negotiations

• Problem High average tariff rates on fish and
  fish products and considerable non-tariff
  barriers (standards, licenses, quotas)
• Support US proposal to phase out all tariffs on
  industrial products, incl. fish
• Must improve anti-dumping rules

• Most of the harvest taken within EEZ
• Cooperates on management with other countries
• The most important agreement with Russia and EU
