What is form?

• Form is the three dimensional representation of a
  shape. The illusion of form can be created with
  skillful applications of value to define a light
  source. Form mostly refers to 3-D objects.

For the next project, you will be manipulating
form.

We will be creating ceramic figures.

The first step will be to build a base for your
figure to stand or sit on. The base needs to be
thick enough to support your figure.

Put your base in a bag to keep it moist. Begin
making small forms for the different segments of
your figure.

Bring the pieces together, attaching them by
scoring and slipping them.

Then you can add your details and attach your
form to the base by scoring and slipping.

Hints and Tips

• Follow directions
• Score and slip pieces when you attach them
• Take your time
• Keep important pieces from drying out
• Make your figure thick enough to support itself
• Do not make your figure over six inches tall
