INTRODUCTION
  •
  •
  •
  • People In china like playing sports in
china. Physical fitness and sports are of
national importance in china, and people value
sports mostly for both health and fun. China has
a long history of martial arts, witch is not
combat but it is a system of relaxation and
exercise. Some of the favorite sports in china
are basketball, football, martial arts, table
tennis, soccer, and badminton. My favorite sport
    is basketball.

BASKETBALL
  •
  •
  •
  • Basketball is a really fun sport. Dr. James
Naismith invented basketball while working for
the YMCA training school in spring field
    Massachusetts. Basketball was actually
introduced to china in 1896. Since the arrival
of Yao Ming (a basketball player) in the NBA in
2002, the game has grown considerably in the most
populated country. Chinas basketball company is
called CBA (china basketball association), and
more than four hundred million people play it.

BASEBALL
  • Baseball was first introduced to china in 1864,
with the establishment of the Shanghai Baseball
Club by the American Medical missionary Henry
Boone. However, in 1959 Mao Zedong disbanded all
teams and outlawed Baseball. After the Cultural
    Revolution ended, Baseball Activities Association
formed in 1974. In 2002, China Baseball League
was formed, and China participated in the World
    Baseball Classics.

MARTIAL ARTS
  • In most of the large spoken Chinese language
varieties, the word Kung Fu is pronounced Kun Fu.
  • The beginning of Chinese Martial Arts has helped
to people learn self-defense, hunting techniques,
and military training in ancient China.
Hand-to-hand combat and weapons practice were
important in training in ancient Chinese
    soldiers.

BADMINTON
  • Badminton is a Chinese sport. Lin Dan is the only
player in badminton history to have won three
consecutive titles at the world championships. In
    2006,2007,2009, because of its relative
    simplicity, inexpensive equipment, and
accessibility to venues. Badminton is a very
established and popular sport in china.

VOLLEYBALL
  • Volleyball arrived in Asia in 1908. From there
it was practiced in China and Japan. China took
five consecutive world titles in the 1908s.
Thats pretty amazing that they won so many
times. The leading volleyball nations in Asia is
Japan, to a lesser extent south Korea and China.

CONCLUSION
  • We think its amazing how many sports there are
in china. People play a lot of the same sports in
China as they do in The U.S.A, for example these
are some of the sports they both play. Chess,
    volleyball, Basketball, figure skating and
gymnastics. Thats pretty amazing because china
is very far from the U.S.A but they still play
    some of the same sports.

THINK DO YOU THINK ITS AMAZING THAT CHINA AND
THE U.S.A PLAY SOME OF THE SAME GAMES ?
