- Locate, close with and destroy the enemy by fire
and maneuver or to repel the enemy's assault by
fire and close combat. - To accomplish this, the battalion's organic
complement of three rifle, a weapons, and a
headquarters company are reinforced by a variety
of forces from throughout the 3rd Marine
Division, including assault amphibian vehicles,
combat engineers, etc. Collectively, the
reinforced battalion is referred to as a
Battalion Landing Team.
