    verse in poetry
  • Beatniks of the 50s and 60s helped to
    popularize free verse
  • Some important writers from these two groups are
    Allen Ginsbourg, William S. Burroughs, Jack
    Kerouac, E.E. Cummings, and Langston Hughes
