Welcome to Chemistry

• Students can get help before or after school in
  Room 4310. I am here at 700 each morning (but
  have Brain Game some days). In the afternoons I
  am in Room 4310 until at least 400 each
  afternoon.
• If I cannot be found in either of these
  locations, I am most likely in the lab.

Honors Chemistry

• Students can best be successful in chemistry by
  taking notes in class on a daily basis, do the
  homework, ask questions and see me for extra help
  as soon as they do not understand a concept that
  we cover.
• The best way for a student to improve their grade
  is to retake any and/or all tests and/or quizzes
  on which they have a low score. They may do this
  up until the end of the grading period.

IB Higher Level /AP Chemistry Senior Year

• Students only have to take either the IB or the
  AP test, but not both. For the IB diploma, they
  will take the Higher Level (HL) test. We will
  start reviewing for the exams after Spring break.
• The tests are in early May.
• Recommendation Letters please ask at least two
  weeks prior to date that the letter is needed.

IB Higher Level /AP Chemistry Junior Year

• Reading and taking notes from the textbook is a
  MUST!
• IB and AP tests will be taken at the end of the
  senior year students do not have to take both
  tests
• I recommend waiting until senior year to take the
  SAT subject test for chemistry

Upcoming Information

• IB/AP Junior Senior classes each have a quiz
  next Thursday, September 1st
• All students need a calculator a graphing
  calculator is not required, but they will need at
  least a scientific calculator (ask their math
  teachers what kind that they prefer the students
  to have for their class).
