Language Arts

• Students are expected to use proper
  capitalization and punctuation in all writing.
  Once a skill has been taught and tested, it will
  be expected to be used and can affect any grade
  when neglected. Please reinforce this
  expectation at home. Ineligible writing can also
  negatively affect grades.

• School wide focus is reduce.
• Recycle paper, bottles, cans, bags
• Reduce Landfill Waste
• Increase awareness of energy, water and natural
  resource usage
• Care for our butterfly habitat
• How you can help green lunches, reusable water
  bottles, environmental T-shirt - Wednesdays.

Homework

• 50 - 60 minutes, 4 nights weekly (math practice,
  writing prompt, vocab., science/social studies
  reading)
• Occasional long-term projects
• Math Superstars are assigned and due on Tuesdays
• Personal Reading
• 3 missed assignments will cause student to
  receive a disciplinary note and will be reflected
  on report card
• Students never have no homework !!
• First in Math, FCAT Explorer, Brainpop, etc.

Classroom Snacks Celebrations

• Daily - one serving of healthy snack and personal
  water bottle
• Birthdays - small treat with notice
• NO HOMEMADE items can be given out, per school
  board policy.
• Please consider the health of our children and
  the planet when purchasing food or party goods
  for our class. (avoid Styrofoam and other
  non-recyclables, overly processed, etc.) Fresh
  fruit, vegies, and whole grains are always
  welcome.
• Please save nuts and nut-butters for at home, as
  we have serious food allergies in our class.
