Egypt's Beginnings

• Egypt began in around 5000 B.C.E when the first
  nomads settled around the Nile River.

• Then after Egypt formed, The country split into
  Upper and Lower Egypt.

• King Narmer was famous for reuniting Upper and
  Lower Egypt.

The Old Kingdom

• This is the era were Egypt grew and prospered.The
  Pyramids were built in this time to.

The Middle Kingdom (2300b.c.-1670b.c.)

• During this time Egypt was at the height of
• Peace and Architecture.
• The Thebes dynasty ruled during this time.

The New Kingdom
(1550b.c. - 1080b.c.)

• During this time Egypt reached the height of its
  ancient glory.
• Some of the Greatest Rulers lived at this time
• Queen Hatshepsut and Ramses II were among them.

The Fall of Ancient Egypt
(1150b.c.)

• After Ramses II, Egypt had fallen into turmoil.
• Egypt was attacked by multiple groups such as,
  the Libyans, people of Kush, and the Assyrians.

• Egypt had many different rulers, called pharaohs.
  Here are some of the most known ones
• Hatshepsut
• Ramesses II
• Tutankhamun
• Alexander the Great
• Cleopatra VII

The Double Split

• In 1100 B.C., Egypt split again.

Invasions

• In 671 B.C. Egypt was invaded by Assryia
• In 525 B.C. Egypt was conquered by Persia

Rosetta Stone

• In 196 B.C., the Rosetta Stone was carved. It
  translated hieroglyphs, because it had three
  languages Greek, Hieroglyphics, and Demotic

King Tut

• King Tut's tomb was discovered in 1922 by Howard
  Carter. His tomb wasn't that great, but it was
  the first tomb we had found, because of grave
  robbers.

Pyramids

• Pyramids are tombs for pharaohs and important
  people. There are two types of pyramids A step
  pyramid and a triangular pyramid. A step pyramid
  is in the bottom left, a triangular pyramid is in
  the bottom right. The most well-known pyramid is
  probably the Great Pyramid. A picture of it is in
  between the step pyramid and the triangular
  pyramid

Gods

• Some of the main, well-known gods are Horus,
  Isis, Anubis, and Ra. Ra is the god of the sun,
  Horus is the god of the sky, Isis is the god of
  protection, and Anubis is the god of the dead.
  The amulet in the bottom left is called an Isis
  knot. It is her symbol. The eye of Horus is on
  the right. In the middle left, is Ra's "natural
  form" In the middle left, is Anubis's form.
