1. Give Me The Bible (154)
  • Give me the Bible, star of gladness gleaming, to
cheer the wanderer, lone and tempest tossed No
storm can hide that radiance peaceful beaming,
since Jesus came to seek and save the lost.
  • Give me the Bible, when my heart is broken, when
sin and grief have filled my soul with fear Give
me the precious words by Jesus spoken, hold up
faiths lamp to show my Savior near.
  • Give me the Bible, all my steps enlighten, teach
me the danger of these realms below That lamp of
safety oer the gloom shall brighten, that light
alone the path of peace can show.
  • Give me the Bible, lamp of life immortal, hold up
that splendor by the open grave Show me the
light from heavens shining portal, show me the
    glory guilding Jordans wave.
  • Chorus Give me the Bible, holy message shining,
Thy light shall guide me in the narrow way
Precept and promise, law and love combining, till
night shall vanish in eternal day.

wild I, who left my Fathers home, in forbidden
    ways to roam.
  • I, who spurned His loving hold, I, who would not
be controlled, I, who would not hear His call, I,
    the willing prodigal.
  • To my Father can I go? At His feet myself Ill
throw? In His house there yet may be, place a
    servants place for me.
  • See! My Father waiting stands See! He reaches
out His hands God is love, I know, I see Love

Psalm 148

He Carried My Sorrows
  • He carried my sorrows,
  • He bore my griefs,
  • Was pierced for transgression,
  • Afflicted for peace.
  • Chorus
  • He knew by His stripes I am healed,
  • Through His blood, I can kneel,
  • For by His oppression,
  • I worship my King.
  • He suffered in anguish,
  • He writhed in pain,
  • Was smitten, forsaken,
  • Abandoned, and slain.
  • Despised and rejected,
  • He knew no sin,
  • Was crushed for His people,
  • No violence within.
  • (Chorus)
  • My heart mourns His chastening,
  • Isa 533-9
  • 3 He is despised and rejected by men,  A Man of
sorrows and acquainted with grief.  And we hid,
as it were, our faces from Him
  •     He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
  • 4    Surely He has borne our griefs  And carried
    our sorrows
  •     Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God,
    and afflicted.
  • 5    But He was wounded for our transgressions,
  •     He was bruised for our iniquities The
chastisement for our peace was upon Him,     And
by His stripes we are healed.
  • 6    All we like sheep have gone astray     We
have turned, every one, to his own way     And
the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
  • 7    He was oppressed and He was afflicted,
Yet He opened not His mouth     He was led
as a lamb to the slaughter,
  •     And as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
So He opened not His mouth.
  • 8    He was taken from prison and from judgment,
And who will declare His generation?     For
He was cut off from the land of the living
For the transgressions of My people He was
    stricken.
  • 9    And they made His grave with the wicked
But with the rich at His death,     Because
He had done no violence,     Nor was any deceit
    in His mouth.

GOD HIMSELF IS WITH US 177
  • God Himself is with us Let us now adore Him, And
with awe appear before Him. God is in His temple,
all within keep silence, Prostrate lie with
deepest reverence. Him alone, God we own, Him our
God and Savior Praise His Name forever.
  • God Himself is with us Whom angelic legions
Serve with awe in heavenly regions Holy, holy,
holy, hear the hymn ascending, Angels, saints,
their voices blending! Bow Thine ear to us here
Hear, O Christ, the praises that Thy church now
    raises.
  • O Thou fount of blessing, purify my spirit
Trusting only in Thy merit, Like the holy angels
who behold Thy glory, May I ceaselessly adore
Thee, And in all, great and small, seek to do
    most nearlyWhat Thou lovest dearly.
  • Come, abide within me Let my soul, like Mary, Be
Thine earthly sanctuary. Come, indwelling Spirit,
With transfigured splendor Love and honor will I
render. Where I go here below Let me bow before
Thee, Know Thee, and adore Thee."
  • Gladly we surrender Earth's deceitful treasures,
Pride of life and sinful pleasures Gladly, Lord,
we offer Thine to be forever, Soul and life and
each endeavor. Thou alone shalt be known Lord of
all our being, Life's true way decreeing."

I Walk With The King 296

now I am happy securely I rest from morning
till evening glad carols I sing, and this is the
reason I walk with the King.

walk with the King, praise His name! No longer I
roam, my soul faces home, I walk and I talk with
    the King.
  • For years in the fetters of sin I was bound, the
world could not help me no comfort I found but
now like the birds and the sunbeams of spring,
Im free and rejoicing I walk with the King.
  • O soul near despair in the lowlands of strife,
look up and let Jesus come into your life the
joy of salvation to you He would bring come
into the sunlight and walk with the King.

23
The Day Thou Gavest
  1. The day Thou gavest, Lord, is ended, The darkness
falls at Thy behest To Thee our morning hymns
ascended, Thy praise shall sanctify our rest.
  2. We thank Thee that Thy church, unsleeping, While
earth rolls onward into light, Through all the
world her watch is keeping, And rests not now by
    day or night.
  3. As oer each continent and island The dawn leads
on another day, The voice of prayer is never
silent,Nor dies the strain of praise away.
  4. The sun that bids us rest is waking Our brethren
neath the western sky, And hour by hour fresh
lips are making Thy wondrous doings heard on
    high.
  5. So be it, Lord Thy throne shall never, Like
earths proud empires, pass away Thy kingdom
stands, and grows forever, Till all Thy creatures
    own Thy sway.

24
I Know Whom I Have Believed (291)
  • I know not why Gods wondrous grace to me He hath
made known. Nor why, unworthy, Christ in love
    redeemed me for His own.
  • I know not what of good or ill may be reserved
for me. Of weary ways or golden days, before His
    face I see.
  • I know not when my Lord may come, at night or
noon day fair. Nor if Ill walk the vale with
Him or meet Him in the air.
  • Chorus But I know whom I have believed, and am
persuaded that He is able to keep that which Ive
committed unto Him against that day.

25
There Is A Habitation (660)
  • There is a habitation, built by the living God,
for all of every nation, who seek that grand
    abode.
  • A city with foundations, firm as the eternal
throne, no wars nor desolations shall ever move a
    stone.
  • No night is there no sorrow, no death and no
decay, no yesterday no morrow, but one eternal
    day.
  • Within its pearly portals, angelic armies sing,
with glorified immortals, the praises of its
    King.
  • CHORUS Oh Zion, lovely Zion, I long thy gates
to see O Zion, lovely Zion, when shall I dwell
    in thee?
