3Featherlite
Featherlite is a manufacturer of luxury motor
coaches that are fully equipped with amenities
for travel and entertainment. They feature top
of the line technology systems for life support,
media, and communications.

- About 250 employees are organized into the
following teams -
- Management Planning Finishing Painting
- Design Engineering Sales Marketing
- Service Maintenance Metals Fabrication
Welding - Installation Systems Verification
5Interiors
The company specializes in upholstering,
carpeting, woodworking, specialty furniture,
special appointments for interiors, metals
fabrication, electrical support systems, exterior
finishing, and media systems which include global
positioning systems, wireless equipment, and high
definition theater equipment.
6Design Drawings
As the motor coach is sold, a drawing package is
developed for its production, which will include
custom options and specialty equipment.
7Team Assignments
Teams are assigned to fabricate, locate and
install subsystems to include power generators,
electrical, plumbing, modular systems for
refrigeration, air conditioning, cooking, media /
entertainment systems (outside inside),
furniture, customized interiors, and
communications systems with programmable
controls.
8Teamwork
Effective teams enable work to be performed
efficiently. They provide a work group atmosphere
where individuals can contribute best efforts in
support of common goals. Solving problems can
best be accomplished as a team effort.

Manufacturers use teams for the following reasons
- Teams that work well together achieve more than
individuals. - Teams bring together individuals with different
skills and perspectives. - Team efforts can lead to improvements in
processes, quality, safety, and customer service,
and, consequently, greater profits. - Teams may require fewer layers of management.
