Physical Change

• Physical change is a change that occurs that does
  not change the identity of the substance.
  Examples include
• gtMelting ice gtFreezing Kool-Aid gtTearing
  paper gtBoiling water

Chemical Change

• Chemical change is a change that occurs causing
  the identity of the substance to change. Examples
  include
• gtBurning wood gtDigesting food gtPotassium
  reacting with water
• A chemical change can also be called a chemical
  reaction.

Indicators of a Chemical Change

• Indicators of a chemical change can include
• gtLight is produced gtHeat is either absorbed or
  produced gtGas is produced gtThere is a
  change in color gtFormation of a precipitate (a
  solid in a liquid)
