insurance rates. Insert a needle into the
patients arm. Shake hands warmly. Deliver mail.
21
How to teach a procedure in WBT
  1. Introduce the exact routine
  2. Explain any supporting material
  3. Explain the steps (action tables and decision
    tables)
  4. Demonstrate the procedure clearly(Video,
    graphic, audio, animation)
  5. Let them rehearse it (part ? full)
  6. Provide honest feedback

What is a Principle?
  • Non-routine tasks requiring employees to
translate guidelines that fit a situation
  • Varies according to the situation - use their
    best judgment
  • Adapt to the need thinkHow to handle an
angry customer? How to respond to an
    employeewith a personal problem.

25
How to teach a Principle in WBT
  1. State the principle
  2. Present the guidelines
  3. Demonstrate (modeling)
  4. Show examples and non-examples
  5. Provide practice simulations (simple ? hard)
  6. Use case study, simulations, video, audio
  7. Connect to expert, get feedback, let learner
    reflect and try again.

How to Overcome an Objection Sales objections
can be overcome when FisherScientific consultants
use a customer-centered approach to
sales. HOW? 1. Listen to their needs. 2. Ask
specific questions. 3. Clarify responses. 4.
Position appropriate products. 5. Stress our key

Feedback from Expert True, EM solvents have
been around for a long time, but their purity
standards are not as good as ours. In medical
research, the purer the solvent used in
experiemtns, the least chance for false
conslusions.

  • Web pages should employ scannable text,
    using
  • highlighted keywords (hypertext links typeface
    variations and color.),
  • meaningful sub-headings (not "clever" ones.),
  • bulleted lists (like this one),
  • one idea per paragraph (users will skip over any
additional ideas if they are not caught by the
first few words in the paragraph.),
  • the inverted pyramid style, starting with the
    conclusion, and
  • half the word count (or less) than conventional
    writing.

Stress Management
Stress is a common problem in the
American workplace today. Every company has it
whether we like it or not. Resolving any stress
issues in our jobsite begins with your
recognizing your personal symptoms
promptly. After you recognize your stress signs,
it is time for you to seek a cure. First, we
suggest that you talk with your supervisors about
your concerns and ask for their advice. They are
a nice bunch of professionals who will help you
beat stress. Another way to beat stress is to
improve yourself physically -- we all need that.
We suggest that you exercise extensively daily
and always eat right. This alone sometimes
resolves stress.
The 10-10 Rule Chop Out 10 of the
Words, then Chop Out Another 10
