- Thank you for the chance to talk to you about the
NZ Firefighters Welfare Society. - My Name is YOUR NAME and I am the POSITION of the
Society. - I want to talk to you about the benefits of
being a member of the Welfare Society.
3 Since our inception in 1987, The New Zealand
Firefighters Welfare Society, has been there
looking after its members and their families.
We are an organization run by Firefighters for

5 Firefighters are good at protecting their
Community.
The Welfare Society will support you and
your family in your times of need. Welfare
Society Station Reps, Roving Reps, Regional
Reps and office staff will look after members and
their families ensuring that they get
the benefits they are entitled to.
6Membership is open to
- NOTE - Once you become a member you can remain a
member as long as you continue to pay your
contribution. - Members of Volunteer fire Brigades.
- Employees of the NZ Fire Service.
- Rural Firefighters.
- Airport Crash Fire Service Employees.
- Employees of the Society.

- A members Child, upon reaching the age of 19.
- Persons who have retired from or left the NZ
Fire Service. - Members and employees of the N.Z Firefighters
Credit Union. - Member of an Ambulance ServiceWithin NZ Paid
or Voluntary. - Employees of the U.F.B.A.

12Holiday/Convalescent Homes Benefit
Members of the Welfare Society have the
opportunity to rent one of our Holiday homes for
65.00 per night. The Firefighters Welfare also
has a reciprocal agreement with the NZ Army and
the NZ Police Welfare. There are six
Holiday/Convalescent homes from which to

18Healthcare 99 Benefit
(A Mutual Fund - This is NOT an
insurance) One of the advantages of being a
member of the Welfare Society means you can apply
to Join Healthcare 99. There are two
options Option A Covers in and out of hospital
costs Option B In Hospital Costs only The Board
of the Society are the Trustees of the fund, Aon
is the Claim Manager. more information in your

19To become a member of Healthcare 99 you need to
contribute extra plus the 3.00 for Welfare
Society membership. Contribution rates per
person effective Oct 2012 These rates may change

you.They can then join themselves.

- You should have in front of you an application
folder. - Inside the folder are all the forms and
information that you will need to become a member
of the NZ Fire Fighters Welfare Society. - First you need to fill out the application form.
- If you are NOT paid by the Fire Service, then
you will need to fill out a Direct Debit form.
26Membership
- Once you have filled out your application form
and it has been signed approved by a Board
member/Regional Rep, you are a member in your own
right under the rules of the Society. - Once we receive your first contribution payment
your are then a full member of the Society under
the rules.
