7Palazzo Pesaro Papafava
The seat of the Venice program is Palazzo Pesaro
Papafava, a historic building which dates back
to the 14th century. The palazzo is a typical
example of late Venetian-Gothic architecture and
was for centuries the home of the noble Pesaro
family, whose portrait by Titian can be seen at
the Frari Church. In 1625, Pesarina Pesaro
married Bonifazio Papafava and the Palazzo passed
to the powerful Papafava family that originated
from the mainland. For centuries the building
was used also for cultural gatherings and even
though on your way here it may have seemed to be
located out of the way, the Palazzo is centrally
located in the Rialto district and therefore a
popular spot.

1400 1800 hrs TOUR OF VILLA MANIN
Villa Manin di Passariano stands at the centre of
a vast agricultural holding and is one of the
most prestigious historical residences in Friuli.
The building was commissioned by the Manin
family to show their wealth and their firm
allegiance to the Venetian Republic. Built in
the mid-1600s on the order of Lodovico Manin I,
last of the Venetian Dodges, the majestic Villa
and its evocative surroundings are some of
the most sumptuous in this noblest of Venetian
provinces. In this venture Ludvico used the
help of Domenico Rossi, who was inspired by the
architectural styles of Andrea Palladio. In
1797 the building was used by Napoleon when he
signed the Campoformido treaty which decreed the
