New HOPE Rigor Requirements
  • For the Class of 2017, students must meet
    additional requirements to be eligible to receive
    the HOPE Scholarship.
  • Students not only must have a 3.0 GPA in core
    courses (including foreign language courses),
    they must also complete the new rigor
    requirement. The requirement is that students
    must take and pass four rigor courses.
  • Rigor courses offered at SEHS are marked by an
    asterisk on the registration form, and they are
    also included on the back of the handout.

Work-Based Learning
  • This program is for students 16 years or older.
  • This program allows students to receive high
    school credit while developing skills in the
    workplace.
  • Students do not have to have employment prior to
    entering this program however, the student
    should have a job in his/her program
    concentration area to participate.
  • Students in this program must have a drivers
    license, student parking permit, and have
    personal transportation to participate in this
    program.
  • Students interested in work-based learning should
    see Mrs. Truluck (Room 302) for an application,
    additional information, and regulations.

Dual Enrollment
  • This program allows students 16 years and older
    to take courses for high school and college
    credit.
  • Students must meet enrollment requirements of the
    college.
  • Please see your counselor for more information.

Dual Enrollment Pathways
  • There are four pathways that start during a
    students junior year. These pathways are dual
    enrollment with Savannah Technical College
  • Welding Pathway
  • Cosmetology Pathway
  • Law Enforcement Services Pathway
  • Aircraft Technician PathwayNote For these
    pathways, students must take the COMPASS test and
    meet minimum requirements for Savannah Tech.

  • Meet with your school counselor to make sure you
    are on track for graduation.
  • Visit the Counselors Corner on the school web
    site for junior information.
  • Start researching colleges that you would like to
    attend to find out what the schools admission
    requirements are (you can do this by using
    GACollege411.org).
  • If you would like to qualify for the National
    Merit Scholarship Program, you MUST take the PSAT
    as a junior.

    junior year and two your senior year if you plan
    on going during a school day). You must follow
    school protocol on College 10-Days.
