Bubbas Tip 1 Embezzle Now

• Embezzle is such a harsh word
• Temporary borrowing without intent of returning
  sounds better
• It is amazing how even the best internal controls
  can still allow us to save now for our retirement

Bubbas Tip 2 Check out the warehouse

• Think about what you might need during your
  retirement
• Imagine how long that 50 pound wheel of commodity
  cheese will last!
• Stock up on paper products too!
• Fill up the garage with paper towels and TP

Bubbas Tip 3 Call in your chips

• Remember when you did all of those favors for all
  of your friends?
• Now is the time to collect on them with interest
• If you took them to lunch, they should at least
  buy you dinner
• If it has been long enough, try for a new car!

Bubbas Tip 4 Buy lots of polyester

• While we may have frowned on the old folks that
  wore those amazing polyester outfits when we were
  younger, no more!
• We are styling when you put on our stretch pants
  and knits shirts
• Dont forget shoes and socks cannot be
  coordinated!

Bubbas Tip 5 Daily bathing is now optional

• When you have a full-time job, you are expected
  to come to work all clean and proper
• Now you can lay around in your bathrobe all day
  and nobody can complain
• Use your best judgment on how long to save the
  soap

Bubbas Tip 6 Be a burden to your children

• This is expected and your children will welcome
  the opportunity
• You will be surprised how what they thought was a
  spare room is now your luxury condo!
• If you dont have kids, you know relatives and
  friends who do
• Always be a burden to someone younger

Bubbas Tip 7 Hold a garage sale

• Ever notice how many garage sales there are that
  make so much money
• Hold one of your own and sell off all of the
  surplus property from the district
• You dont have all of that red tape like the
  district has
• You get to keep the money!

• It may not be the one you are living in right now
  but plan now
• Check out what is on the market and harass the
  current occupants so you can get your dream home
  by the time you retire

Bubbas Tip 9 Buy a motorhome

• The key to retirement is mobility
• If they cant find you, your retirement will be
  much more enjoyable
• If you have a tow bar on the back of the motor
  home, you can tow a small car behind you. May not
  be yours but so what!

Bubbas Tip 10 Use your age to your advantage

• When you retire, people expect you to start
  losing your hair and your mind
• Use this to your advantage
• If you forget an appointment, stare into space
  and pretend you forgot even though you never
  intended to go in the first place
• This works best when people ask you to pay back a
  loan. Ask them if they have it in writing

  retire solely on their financial situation
• This is a critical part of retirement but not the
  only one
• Your health and happiness need to be considered
  at the same time

• While money is critical, maintaining health
  benefits is an important factor to consider
• Before you retire, make sure you understand your
  health benefits completely
• Get it in writing and see what the length of
  coverage is
• Buying insurance on your own is very expensive!

• No matter what the age, you should consider
  whether or not you should purchase long term
  medical care
• While you think you are in great health now,
  watching my folks go through home care and care
  homes, the bills pile up fast
• And please dont expect Medicare to take care of
  all of your needs

• If you are worried about filling your time, trust
  me it will fill up quickly!
• Amazing how many things that didnt get done
  because you were so busy working are now staring
  you in the face to get done
• Make sure you keep a calendar of appointments
  because you will be so busy that you cant
  remember them all

• When people hear you are retired, they think you
  are always available
• Keep in mind you earned this time to do the
  things you want to do
• Your staff will survive and so will your boss
• Take a day off whenever you want

• You have the choice now
• Some people continue to work for a little extra

  only life they know

• Sometimes we are a little hesitant to spend money
  on ourselves
• Terms like fixed income and tight finances
  can hold us back
• But who is promised tomorrow?
• Enjoy life - buy yourself something special now

• Dont go broke but you have been saving for so
  long, it is time to spend!

• If you ever wanted to glow, spending time with
  people is so rewarding
• Volunteer to read to the kids, help with local
  charities, join local groups and participate in
  trips
• It is amazing how many fun things you can do that
  have nothing to do with spending lots of money
