  • Plato and Aristotle believed that organisms were
    perfectly formed and adapted to the world
  • Judeo Christian theology believed

  • Carolus Linnaeus founder of taxonomy and binomial
    nomenclature
  • Clustered similar organisms into categories, he
    did not assume any evolutionary relationship
