Nitrogen containing heterocyclic compounds have
receivedmuch attention as it posses exciting
biological activities such as antimicrobial,
anticonvulsant, cardiotonic, antifungal,
anticancer, antitumor agent, and
anti-inflammatory activities so they are
considered as important key elements.

The phthalazine derivative azelastine (A) is
an antihistamine used in the treatment of
allergic rhinitis.

• Zopolrestat (B) is aphthalazinone derivative that
  has been in clinical trials , it inhibit aldose
  reductase and has potential use in the prevention
  of retinopathy,neuropathy, and cataractformation
  in diabetes

• The chemiluminescence reaction of luminol (C) has
  found analytical application, paticularly in
  biological system.

synthesized compounds towards some microorganisms
such as bacteria and fungi.
