Christmas Carols
Although the tradition of Christmas carols was
not new to the Victorians, it became far more
popular during this era. The Victorians thought
that carols were a delightful form of musical
entertainment and did a lot to develop new
carols, often putting old words to new tunes.

Nowadays, you will not just hear carols being
sung in church, but also in schools, streets,
parks and shops. Sometimes a group of carol
singers might even come to your front door to
serenade you with songs about this wonderful
celebration!
