The Word for today
22
Phrases that struck me on hearing
On this mountain the Lord will make for all
peoples a feast of rich food
He will destroy the shroud that is cast over all
peoples
The Lord God will wipe away the tears from all
faces
23
  • For you have been a refuge to the poor, a
refuge to the needy in their distress, a shelter
from the rainstorm and a shade from the heat
    Isaiah 25 1-9

24
  • The Lord is my shepherd
  • I shall not be in want
  • He revives my soul
  • and guides me along right pathways
  • Psalm 23

25
  • REJOICE in the Lord always again I say rejoice.
  • Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The
    Lord is near.

Do not worry about anything but in everything by
prayer let your requests be known to God
Philippians 4 1-9
26
How can we cultivate the Spirit in a busy city,
busy world - with families, or jobs or other
interests which fill our days?
27
  • Wedding invitations
  • the room is prepared and the food is ready
  • But the guests made light of it.

28
  • Quick retribution
  • Go out into the streets and hedgerows
  • One guest did not come prepared

29
On this mountain the Lord will make for all
peoples a feast of rich food
Many are called - but few are chosen
30
But only if we give him the time and space to do
so
