and you will lose 20 points during the 3rd 6
    weeks.

    next days assignment
  • Other assignments accepted up to 3 days late
  • Ten points deducted for each day late

7
Other rules procedures
  • Food and beverages are not allowed in the
classroom unless part of a class assignment. This
means no gum, candy, juice, etc.
  • Please be in your seat when the bell rings, as
    class begins at that time.
  • Ask for permission before moving around the
    classroom (this includes sharpening pencils,
    throwing away trash, etc.)

8
Beginning of class
  • Turn in notes in appropriate folder (if
    applicable)
  • Open ISN to correct page
  • Write la fecha (date) in español
  • Copy the objective
  • Complete the Bell ringer
  • Retrieve daily assignment and complete it
  • Begin work on unit checklist or PBL project

9
During class
  • Stay on task
  • Keep voices low (INSIDE VOICES)
  • Keep your area neat/clean
  • Work from bell to bell
  • Ask for help when needed
  • Manage your time efficiently

10
End of class
  • The teacher dismisses you, not the bell. The bell
simply tells me that the class has ended.
  • Do not start packing up prior to the bell. This
is distracting and rude. When you hear the bell,
    you may begin packing.
  • Make sure to pick up all trash and retrieve all
of you materials. Anything personal items left
will be thrown in the trash.
  • Wait until the teacher finishes and officially
    dismisses you.

11
Flipped classroom
  • Reverses traditional class format
  • Homework becomes classwork and vice versa
  • Lectures viewed for homework
  • Notes and comprehension checks before class
  • Videos on YouTube (ktlorenzo) or Coursesites
  • More time in class to build proficiency
  • Less time doing homework

12
Project-based learning (PBL)
  • Driving question(s)
  • Research to support your opinion
  • Work in groups
  • Group/Individual Project
  • Lasts for entire unit (1.5 2 weeks)

13
Cornell notes
14
Interactive student notebook (ISN)
  • 5-star college-ruled Spiral Notebook
  • Crayons or colored pencils
  • Odd pages are on the right and even pages on the
    left
  • Should have a right/left for each day in class
  • Left hand assignments should reflect learning on
right side. Should be colorful and creative (see
    handout on ISNs)

15
remember
  • You will be expected to listen to, read, write,
    and speak in Spanish.
  • You will be expected to give 100 of your best
    each day.

    learning.
