THIS SPEAKERS HISTORY
  • Raised in the church, but not a true Christian
  • At Bucknell University majored in Music and
    Biology
  • Became a convinced Old Universe Evolutionist
  • In 1966 Graduated from U. of Pittsburgh College
of Dentistry as an Agnostic, Zen Buddhist,
    Evolutionist
  • Served my country as a USAF dentist for the
pilots and crews of AF1 and the presidential
fleet (89th MAW) during Viet Nam war (President
    Johnson)
  • Received the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior at
    age 27 (1967).

3
  • Upon becoming a Christian I immediately became a
Theistic Evolutionist (God Big Bang millions
    of years)
  • Established a private dental practice at NASA in
    Clear Lake City, Texas
  • 1971 became a professor of dentistry at Baylor
College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas
  • My first lecture The Evolution of the Tooth
(How fish scales moved into the mouth and became
    teeth)
  • Two students challenged me after that first
lecture to investigate Young Earth Creation (1971)

4
  • After several years of studying the Bible, the
assumptions behind evolution and the irreducible
complexity of animals, I emerged a Young Earth
Creationist. (Earth 6000 yrs. old, Global Flood
    4400 yrs ago)
  • In 1982 I resigned my full professorship (with
tenure) and enrolled at Dallas Theological
    Seminary
  • Since completing the degree in Systematic
Theology in 1986, Jenna Dee, Taryn, Mirren and I
have been travelling around the USA and across
the oceans teaching and preaching about various
aspects of worldviews and the veracity of true
Christianitya relationship with the God of the
Bible through the death and resurrection of His
    only Son, Jesus Christ.

DISCERNING DEFENDERS OF THE FAITH
  • 1 Peter 314-15
  • 14But and if ye suffer for righteousness
sake, happy are ye and be not afraid of their
terror, neither be troubled 15But sanctify the
Lord God in your hearts and be ready always to
give an answer to every man that asketh you a
reason of the hope that is in you with meekness
    and fear.

6
OR
7
DEFECTORS FROM THE FAITH?
  • Proverbs 1412
  • There is a way which seemeth right unto a
man, but the end thereof are the ways of death

8
Where is Our Heart?
9
Do we desire Truth in our innermost being for
ourselves and our children?
  • Psalm 516
  • Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward
parts and in the hidden part thou shalt make me
    to know wisdom.

10
James 15-6
  • 5If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of
God, that giveth to all men liberally, and
upbraideth not and it shall be given him. 6But
let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he
that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven
    with the wind and tossed

11
Have we been so long with the Father and yet we
do not know or understand His heart?
  • John 149
  • Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long
time with you, and yet hast thou not known me,
    Philip?

12
Have we been led astray from the simplicity and
purity of devotion to Christ?
  • 2 Corinthians 113
  • But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent
beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds
should be corrupted from the simplicity that is
    in Christ

13
Have we been compromised, neutralized and diluted
by Satans culture by our flesh?
  • Psalm 1012-3
  • 2I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O
when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within
my house with a perfect heart. 3I will set no
wicked thing before mine eyes I hate the work of
them that turn aside it shall not cleave to me.

14
  • We do not become compromised or diluted over
    night.It is a conscious process!
  • 1 Corinthians 1013-14
  • There hath no temptation taken you but such as
is common to man but God is faithful, who will
not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are
able but will with the temptation also make a
way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
  • 14Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from
    idolatry.

15
1 John 520-21
  • 20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and
hath given us an understanding, that we may know
him that is true, and we are in him that is true,
even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true
God, and eternal life. 21Little children, keep
    yourselves from idols. Amen.

16
Colossians 35-6
  • 5Mortify therefore your members which are upon
    the earth fornication, uncleanness, inordinate
    affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness,
which is idolatry 6For which things sake the
wrath of God cometh on the children of
    disobedience.

17
Psalm 394-5
  • 4LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure
of my days, what it is that I may know how frail
I am. 5Behold, thou hast made my days as an
handbreadth and mine age is as nothing before
thee verily every man at his best state is
    altogether vanity. Selah.

18
Psalm 9012
  • So teach us to number our days, that we may apply
    our hearts unto wisdom.

19
Ephesians 516-17
  • 16Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
17Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding
what the will of the Lord is.

20
Colossians 45-6
  • 5Walk in wisdom toward them that are without,
redeeming the time. 6Let your speech be alway
with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know
how ye ought to answer every man.

21
We choose moment by moment to be conformed to
this world or to be transformed into the image of
our Lord Jesus by the renewing of our minds as we
meditate on His Word!
22
Romans 121-2
  • 1I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the
mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a
living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God,
which is your reasonable service. 2And be not
conformed to this world but be ye transformed by
the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what
is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will
    of God.

23
  • Are we choosing to be conformed or transformed?

24
What are we choosing?
  • Therapy over Theology?
  • The Artificial over the AUTHENTIC?
  • Entertainment over Entreatment (of the Bible)?
  • The World over the Word?
  • Passion over Purity?
  • Feeling good over Being Good?
  • Professing Faith over truly Possessing The Faith?

25
Are we choosing the world, the flesh and the
devil?
  • 1And you hath he quickened, who were dead in
trespasses and sins 2Wherein in time past ye
walked according to the course of this world,
according to the prince of the power of the air,
the spirit that now worketh in the children of
disobedience 3Among whom also we all had our
conversation in times past in the lusts of our
flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of
the mind and were by nature the children of
wrath, even as others. Ephesians 21-3

26
Why would we choose the world, the flesh and the
devil?
  • We, even as Christians young and old, choose
the world the flesh and the devil because of the
  • Lust of the flesh
  • Lust of the eyes
  • Pride of life.

27
1 John 215-17
  • 15Love not the world, neither the things that are
in the world. If any man love the world, the love
of the Father is not in him. 16For all that is in
the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of
the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the
Father, but is of the world. 17And the world
passeth away, and the lust thereof but he that
doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

28
  • Lets take a look at ourselves and our families.
  • Are we slipping into worldliness?
  • Are we allowing our vitality, enthusiasm and
God-given focus and gifts to be compromised and
    diluted?
  • Are we practicing Godliness in our homes and
    families?
  • Are we bringing eternal glory to our dear Lord
Jesus as we accomplish His works starting in our
    homes?

29
Ephesians 210
  • For we are his workmanship poem, created in
Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath
before ordained that we should walk in them.

30
  • To be defenders of The Faith we must practice
    Colossians 110-11
  • 10That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all
pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and
increasing in the knowledge of God
11Strengthened with all might, according to his
glorious power, unto all patience and
    longsuffering with joyfulness.

31
  • One of our motivating factors to live out
Scriptures such as Colossians 110 should stem
from the appreciation and gratitude of
    understanding
  • 1 Corinthians 620
  • For ye are bought with a price therefore
glorify God in your body, and in your spirit,
    which are Gods.

32
  • How can we glorify God in our body and spirit?
  • Galatians 522-25
  • 22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy,
    peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness,
faith, 23Meekness, temperance against such there
is no law. 24And they that are Christs have
crucified the flesh with the affections and
lusts. 25If we live in the Spirit, let us also
    walk in the Spirit.

33
Proverbs 423-27
  • 23Keep thy heart with all diligence for out of
it are the issues of life. 24Put away from thee a
froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from
thee. 25Let thine eyes look right on, and let
thine eyelids look straight before thee. 26Ponder
the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be
established. 27Turn not to the right hand nor to
the left remove thy foot from evil.

34
  • We must guard our feet from slipping off the
straight and narrow path of Gods Word.
  • 16These six things doth the LORD hate yea, seven
are an abomination unto him 17A proud look, a
lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations,
feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19A
false witness that speaketh lies, and he that
soweth discord among brethren. Proverbs 616-19

35
Romans 315-18
  • 15Their feet are swift to shed blood
16Destruction and misery are in their ways 17And
the way of peace have they not known 18There is
no fear of God before their eyes

36
  • To be defenders of The Faith we must guard our
hearts and teach our children to guard their
    hearts.
  • Placing Scriptural guards on our hearts is the
best way to guard the path of our feet.
  • Two of the main motivators for guarding our
hearts and the path of our feet is a deep-seated
love and healthy fear of the Lord.

37
The Fear of the Lord
  • There are two aspects to the fear of the Lord
  • Awesome Reverence
  • Bone Shaking Terror

38
The Fear of the LordAwesome ReverenceBone-shakin
g Terror
  • The Greek term phobos phobeo includes both
  • The Hebrew term Yire Yirah includes both
  • Fear is like a volcano You are drawn to it in
awe, but you are repelled from it in fear it
could blow up and kill you.

39
Proverbs 17
  • The fear yireh of the LORD is the beginning
of knowledge but fools despise wisdom and
    instruction.

40
Luke 124-5
  • Jesus said, 4And I say unto you my friends, Be
not afraid of them that kill the body, and after
that have no more that they can do. 5But I will
forewarn you whom ye shall fear Fear him, which
after he hath killed hath power to cast into
hell yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

41
Ecclesiastes 1213-14
  • 13Let us hear the conclusion of the whole
matter Fear God, and keep his commandments for
this is the whole duty of man. 14For God shall
bring every work into judgment, with every secret
thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

42
John 1421
  • He that hath my commandments, and keepeth
them, he it is that loveth me and he that loveth
me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love
him, and will manifest myself to him.

43
  • Are we teaching our children
  • how to defend the Faith in the love and fear of
    God?

44
JUDE 3
  • Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto
you of the common salvation, it was needful for
me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye
should earnestly contend for the faith which was
    once delivered unto the saints.

45
1 PETER 315
  • But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts and be
ready always to give an answer to every man that
asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you
    with meekness and fear.

46
COLOSSIANS 28
  • Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy
and vain deceit, after the tradition of men,
after the rudiments of the world, and not after
    Christ.

47
HOSEA 46
  • My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge
because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also
reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me
seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I
    will also forget thy children.

48
PROVERBS 1412
  • There is a way which seemeth right unto a man,
but the end thereof are the ways of death.

49
Ezra 710
  • 10For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law
of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel
    its statutes and judgments.

50
  • We are losing to other worldviews of Satans
world system up to 89 of our children of
    evangelical Christian families.
  • By age 20 to 29 we only have 11 of our kids who
were raised in the church still involved in
Christian pursuits! Many have come home from
college or now high school and even middle school
    professing atheism.

54
So what is the goal of most of todays younger
generation in USA including Christians? They want
to become rich and famous!
55
ALREADY GONEby Ken Ham and Britt Beemer
  • 20 churched as teen, spiritually active at age
    29
  • 61 churched as teen, disengaged from church
    during their twenties

56
Of all the 20 to 29-year-old evangelicals who
attended church regularly but no longer do so
  • 95 of them attended church regularly during
their elementary and middle school years
  • 55 attended church regularly during high school
  • 11 were still attending church during collage.
  • Already Gone, p.31

57
  • We are losing 40 before high school.
  • We are losing another 44 before college.

58
  • In other words, there is a disconnect between
    knowing Truth and practicing Truth.
  • John 321
  • But he that doeth truth cometh to the light,
that his deeds may be made manifest, that they
    are wrought in God.

59
  • Dads and Moms are we teaching our children
    Biblical discernment and
  • how to defend the Faith?

60
  • Young people and children Are you ready to
defend the true Faith of Christianity no matter
what the consequence, the cost, or the
    circumstance?

61
  • Are we all fearing God with awesome reverence
    combined with bone-shaking terror?

62
  • Are we remembering that there are severe
consequences for sinthat there is a price to be
paid for walking with our Lord in Satans world
    system.

63
  • Our Lord Jesus paid the price for our sin with
    His very life. Romans 57-10
  • 8But God commendeth his love toward us, in
that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for
us. 9Much more then, being now justified by his
blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
10For if, when we were enemies, we were
reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much
more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his
    life.

64
  • Because of what Lord Jesus did for us we exist
for His glory. Whether we live or die we exist
    for the glory of God.
  • Isaiah 428-9
  • 8I am the LORD that is my name and my glory
will I not give to another, neither my praise to
graven images. 9Behold, the former things are
come to pass, and new things do I declare before
they spring forth I tell you of them.

65
Isaiah 533-6
  • He is despised and rejected of men a man of
sorrows, and acquainted with grief and we hid as
it were our faces from him he was despised, and
we esteemed him not. 4Surely he hath borne our
griefs, and carried our sorrows yet we did
esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and
afflicted. 5But he was wounded for our
transgressions, he was bruised for our
iniquities the chastisement of our peace was
upon him and with his stripes we are healed.
6All we like sheep have gone astray we have
turned every one to his own way and the LORD
hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

66
Romans 109
  • 9That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth
the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart
that God hath raised him from the dead, thou
    shalt be saved.

67
  • To be a defender of The Faith a person must
exchange religious piety for a personal
relationship with our crucified and resurrected
Lord, Creator and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ!
  • Romans 1013
  • For whosoever shall call upon the name of the
    Lord shall be saved.
