Study the photograph. You are going to be asked
to write a postcard imagining that you are a
member of this group.
6- Start off by thinking about
- Who the people in the picture could be
- Their relation to each other
- Why the photograph was taken
- When the photograph was taken
Next, choose a character and imagine that you are
that person If you are going to be one of the
females, write a letter to the Front to one of
the men in the photograph imagining that he is
your brother, father, friend or son. You may like
to tell that person a little about what is going
on at home, how things have changed while they
have been away and who else you have heard from.
If you are one of the males then write a letter
from the Front to a member of your family, or
maybe a friend who has been wounded. You may like
to tell them a little about the conditions in
Flanders, the food, the local people Remember
that you would not want to worry your family too
much and letters were censored!!
