  • Occasionally bd courses are given
  • Most commonly used iv antibiotics are
  • Teicoplanin
  • Daptomycin
  • Ceftriaxone
  • Ertapenem
  • More rarely ceftazidime, meropenem

  • UTIs caused by multiply-resistant organisms

  • A blood monitoring leaflet has been developed
  • Weekly blood monitoring by the iv therapy team of
  • Routinely
  • FBC
  • UEs and eGFR
  • CRP
  • When necessary
  • Antibiotic assays / levels TDM
  • CPK

  • Patients need to fit IV pathway inclusion
    criteria
  • Patients will require a PICC line for IV therapy
    treatments for more than 10 days
  • Patients must have review and follow up
    appointment with referrer
  • In-hospital prescription chart, drugs and
    consumables must be sent home with the patient on
    discharge
