2Rate Code Manager Function
- This function can be used to
- Add a new rate code
- Set modify the rules for new and existing rate
codes - Organize your rate code list
- Add package descriptions
- Modify new and existing package descriptions
Note-your property may not use rate codes to
determine whether or not a confirmation email is
sent out. Check with your Account Manager for
details.
3Rate Code Manager Function
Review Rate Codes, Settings, and Package
Descriptions by choosing Rate Code Manager under
the Maintenance Tab in the Portal.
4You will see a full list of your rate codes,
settings, and package elements.
Do we send based on rate code? Do we show the
rate based on Rate Code? Display Name is the
Package Name.
5Add a new Rate Code
5) Save Changes.
1) Type in the rate code you wish to add.
2) Type any internal notes you wish to have. Not
required.
3) If you want confirmation emails to be sent for
this rate code, check the 1st box.
4) If you want the rate to display on the
confirmation emails, check the 2nd box.
Note Rate Codes will automatically load into
Rate Code Manager if they are used on a
reservation with a valid email address. Please
check your default settings to ensure we process
Rate Codes correctly when they are received.
6Set or Modify rules for an existing Rate Code
Click on the modify icon next to the rate code
you wish to change.
To move the rate code to the Archive tab, use the
Organize check box. Uncheck this box on existing
archived rate codes if you wish to move them back
to the Rate Codes tab.
Note-moving a rate code to the Archive tab will
NOT change the rules you have set to send/not
send or suppress/not suppress rates.
7Adding Package Descriptions
To add a package description based on a certain
rate code (which will display on the confirmation
email), click on the Options icon next to the
rate code.
Select the language in which the description
should display and click Add.

Type in the name of the package you wish to
display on the confirmation email.
Type in the description of the package you wish
to display on the HTML confirmation email.
Note-the HTML box and TEXT box entries should
always match.
Type in the description of the package you wish
to display on the TEXT confirmation email.
Note Some of our PMS interfaces include an
option to auto-feed package descriptions to this
section of the Portal so manual addition of
package descriptions is not needed.
9Adding Package Descriptions and Previewing
Once you have verified that the name and
description of the package have no spelling or
grammatical errors, click on the Save Changes
button. If you have multi-language templates with
us, feel free to Add Language to enter your
package description again in the alternate
language.
To view a package description you have entered,
click on the View icon for a preview.
10Modify Existing Package Descriptions
Click on the modify icon next to the package
description you wish to change and follow the
same steps as you did when adding them.
11Additional Notes
- Your property might have special email send rules
set up. If you go to the Rate Code Manager and
the banner is in red alerting you that this
feature is disabled, this does not mean you
cannot add package descriptions. This simply
means your property has special rules and you
should contact your Account Manager for those
details. - If the banner is green when you log in to Rate
Code Manager, you can begin to add and/or modify
your rules as explained in previous slides. - If you choose to begin using the package
description feature, please contact your Account
Manager so that we may ensure your confirmation
template is prepared to display the descriptions
you enter. - Always check your descriptions for spelling
and/or grammatical errors prior to saving those
changes. - Please remember if you move a Rate Code to the
Archive tab, this will not change the rules you
have set. This feature is simply to assist you
