12Overview of Process for Courses Requests for Next
Year
- Thursday, February 26th materials handed out to
students in English classrooms. - Students talk with teachers and family about
course requests and complete course request form.

will meet with their counselor individually and
then will enter choices into computer in the CCC
with scheduling clerk (develop an academic plan
for the rest of high school-My Life Plan
milestone)
13Course Request Process
- There are no guarantees of receiving classes
requested. ( of requests, budgeting, staffing,
etc ) Alternatives MUST be provided - Schedules for next year are not final until the
end of August (just before school starts)
14Why Should I Take Accelerated Coursework?
- Accepted to the college of your choice
- Colleges look for accelerated classes, such as
AP, CIS, PSEO. - Help you become a better learner
- Learn lifelong skills

19Sending ACT and SAT Scores
- STUDENTS NEED TO SEND SCORES FROM THEIR ONLINE
ACCOUNTS (South High cannot send test scores to
colleges. Students may have SAT/ACT scores sent
at any time, at least 3 weeks prior to college
deadline is recommended)
20ACT April 28th South High (Juniors)
- All students are required participate in district
and state mandated tests.. All South Juniors are
to take the April test regardless of whether they
have taken an ACT, will take an ACT later, or are
PSEO students. - ACT Prep Class Free for South Juniors-pick up
registration form in the CCC (246) Seating is
limited, so register ASAP! - PSEO students District ACT make up day May 12th
- 9th,10th and 12th graders will have a regular
school day and will also attend a Career Fair at
South on April 28th -
