BACKGROUND
  • The following matters were raised at previous
    Department of Correctional Services (DCS)
    Portfolio Committee held on 12 September 2012 and
    SITA is to report on the findings.
  • Signing of Business Agreement
  • Outstanding SITA payments
  • RDOMS -Remand Detainee
  • Progress on VPN Migration

SITAs intervention to DCS Challenges
ISSUE PROPOSED SOLUTION STATUS
Signing of the current Business Agreement A new BA workshopped and submitted to DCS for signature Engaging with GITO for further negotiation
Delays in payments to SITA DCS to effect payments for outstanding debt to avoid accumulating interest on overdue account 2012-13 Payments are paid regularly. Balance at R44mil of which R10mil is current financial year.
R34 mil disputes DCS requested supporting documents on outstanding invoices SITA has retrieved supporting documents to the value of R18mil and will complete the process in 3months

SITAs intervention to DCS Challenges
ISSUE PROPOSED SOLUTION STATUS
RDOMS-Remand Detainee and Offender Management System SITA, DCS and Dimension Data to find a solution towards completing the project. Meeting held between the 3 parties to outline the way forward. SITA recommends further engagements with the SITA CEO, DCS Commissioner and Dimension Data Chairperson to resolve the matter amicably.

Virtual Private Network (VPN) -Migration of /- 400 sites to the SITA NGN Secure connections to or from foreign networks through Common Access Point (CAP) with high Quality of Service (QoS) Migration to SITA VPN is scheduled 1-3 March 2013
