2GCF (Greatest Common Factor) is the largest
factor that can be divided into both the
numerator the denominator.
A fraction is in SIMPLEST FORM when the GCF of
the numerator and denominator is the number 1.
Follow these steps
Step 1 Find the GCF of 8 and 12. Factors of 8 -
1, 2, 4, 8 Factors of 12 - 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12 The
GCF is 4 -----------
Step 2 Divide the numerator denominator by the
GCF. 8 4 2 12 4 3
The GCF of 2 3 is 1.
3Find the GCF for each of these fractions and then
express them in SIMPLEST FORM.
