• Write at least 1 ½ pages in which you compare and
  contrast The Giver to another novel by Lois Lowry
  or another novel which a utopia turns into a
  dystopia. Discuss theme, characters, setting and
  plot. Which novel did you prefer, why?
• Pretend a character from the community in the
  novel accidentally finds him/herself in our
  societywrite a 1 ½ pages describing the
  experiences and reactions as you follow a
  character from the novel around for the day.

  of a _____ in which you describe what it is like
  to have that job in Jonas's society.
• Create a new cover for the novel and write one
  page describing why your new cover is a better
  representation of the book.
• Write one page on something that exists in your
  society that does NOT exist in Jonass and
  describe why you could live with or without it.
