We teach
UC provides tools to continue intellectual
development over a lifetime contribute to the
needs of a changing society.
We conduct research
UC national laboratories, medical centers and
other research facilities around the state.
We provide public service
UC's libraries, museums, performing arts spaces,
laboratories, gardens and science centers are
valuable public resources.

- UC researchers and faculty are responsible for
5,505 inventions and 3,617 patents (average 3
inventions per day) - Largest health sciences training program in the

Required grade point average in a-g courses
3.4 GPA for Non-residents 3.0 GPA
for California residents
Examination Requirement ACT with Writing or SAT
Reasoning by December of the senior year. SAT
Subject Tests not required but may be recommended
by some campuses/majors
A minimum of 15 College-prep courses At least
11 of the 15 must be finished prior to the senior
year. Referred to as the a-g pattern
GPA calculated on 10th 11th grade course work
