Student Services
  • Provides a central point of contact for students
    and parents with financial and academic questions
  • Experts respond to questions by phone, emails and
    walk in.
  • Offers the services of the Registrar, Financial
    Aid, Student Accounts, Campus Based Loans and
    auxiliary services in one Lyons Hall location.

Degree Audit
  • Computer generated tool that enables the student
    to assess his/her academic progress towards
    his/her degree.
  • Matches courses to specific degree requirements

  • Students request degree audits and simulated
    degree audits online. They review their degree
    audits with their academic advisors each semester
    prior to registration.

Academic Recorders
  • Academic Records Specialists monitor the academic
    records of students in their respective schools.
  • The academic team answers questions regarding
    courses, grades, registration, degree audits,
    transcripts, degree progress and graduation.

Grades and Transcripts
  • Faculty post grades online each semester.
    Students may view grades once they are posted.
  • Grade reports are mailed home only if requested
    by the student. Students request this option
    through the agora portal.
  • Transcripts are official documents that display a
    students courses and grades. Students request
    online and there is no charge.

Financial Aid Electronic Award Notification
  • Students access their awards through Agora using
    their usernames and passwords.
  • No paper awards.
  • Students should have received their financial aid
    awards.
  • Students who have not yet received their awards
    should contact the Office of Student Services.

Outside Aid
  • We are required to count outside aid as a
    resource in the award.
  • This may result in adjustments.
  • Notify us as soon as possible.

Student Employment
  • Jobs will be posted Wednesday, August 28 at
    www.bc.edu/studentemployment
  • Positions are filled on a first come, first serve
    basis.
  • Students are paid weekly through direct deposit
    into checking/savings account.
  • Students must have original birth certificate or
    passport for I-9 W-4/M-4.
  • Off-campus jobs can be found at
    www.collegehelpers.com.

Appeal Process
  • You have the right to appeal your financial aid
    award and it may be reconsidered if
  • Errors are made
  • in the annual financial aid application,
  • in the calculation of the financial aid award,
  • or if the familys circumstances change.
  • However, adjustments cannot be made which require
    exceptions to the standard principles and
    practices used for all families.

Alternative Financing
  • Total aid including alternative loan cannot
    exceed the cost of attendance.
  • Other financing options are available at the

Student Account Billings
  • Fall Semester bills include ½ of tuition, room
    and board and all mandatory fees and are due on
    August 9.
  • Spring Semester bills include the other ½ of
    tuition, room and board and are due on December
    10.
  • All billing is electronic. No paper bills sent
    home.
  • Students must authorize their parents to
    receive the billing statement.

Medical Insurance
  • Massachusetts law requires that all undergraduate
    students are enrolled in a Health Insurance Plan.

  • Students covered by a comparable may waive
    charge
  • go to Portal and, click on My Services
    medical insurance. Fall deadline to waive fee is
    Sept 13, 2013.
  • Students must complete the waiver process each
    year.
  • Students under 18 must submit a completed paper
    waiver signed by their parents.

  • You will be asked if you want to pay tuition or
    add money to Dining or Eagle Bucks
  • Click on the one you wantyou will need to know
    the students eagle number and month and day of
    birth.
  • Follow directions from there.
  • You may also make a tuition payment as an
    authorized payer on MyBill.

Eagle-One Card
  • Serves as the official identification card for
    students, faculty staff.
  • Serves as a debit card for dining halls, vending
    machines, laundry machines, bookstores, and
    off-campus merchants.
