Teleological

• Rightness of action is determined in terms of the
  consequences of that action
• A right action is one which has good
  consequences

• Rightness of action is determined by the
  motivation which prompts that action.
• A right action is one which is motivated by the
  right sort of reason

utilitarianism

• The most well known teleological theory
• Greater good to the greater number

• Egoistic
• maximise pleasures and minimise pains of the
  agent
• Altruistic
• maximise pleasures and minimise pains of those
  affected by the action
