Ohios Executive Branch
John R. Kasich
John Richard Kasich 3 is the 69th and current
Governor of Ohio.4 A member of the Republican
Party, he previously served as a member of the
United States House of Representatives,
representing Ohio's 12th congressional district
from 1983 to 2001.5 He was a commentator on Fox
News Channel, hosting Heartland with John Kasich,
from 2001 to 2007

Ohios Legislative Branch
The legislative branch, the Ohio General
Assembly, is made up of two houses--the senate
and the house of representatives. The house of
representatives is composed of 99 members elected
from single-member districts of equal population.
Each of the 33 senate districts is formed by
combining three house districts. Senators serve
four-year staggered terms and representatives
serve two-year terms.

The judicial branch is headed by the supreme
court, which has one chief justice and six
associate justices, each elected to staggered
six-year terms.
