Getting feedback
  • Balance positive and negative
  • Be honest about criticisms
  • but also be constructive
  • Dont use the word but after a positive
    comment!
  • Try not to get defensive
  • Ask questions to clarify- it is a great
    opportunity to learn
  • If you believe the feedback is valid decide how
    to respond- and act on it!

  • Work in groups of three
  • One person is the person giving feedback, one
    person is receiving the feedback and the third
    person observes
  • Practice giving and receiving the feedback
    according to the scenarios on the handout
  • Discuss
  • How did the feedback giver feel?
  • How did the feedback receiver feel?
  • Was the feedback constructive?
