Apple unveils two new iPhones, Apple Watch and
ApplePay

  • In one of the most ambitious product launches in
    its history, Apple unveiled two new iPhones, a
    smartwatch and a mobile payments platform on
    Tuesday. The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are
    bigger, rounder and faster. The Apple Watch does
    more than any smartwatch on the market today. And
    Apple hailed the Apple Pay payments system for
    its security and ease of use. New, bigger
    iPhones "Today, we are launching the biggest
    advancement in the history of iPhone," Apple CEO
    Tim Cook said at an event in Cupertino, Calif.
    "They are without a doubt the best iPhones we've
    ever done." The iPhones have curved edges, bigger
    screens, bigger (longer lasting) batteries,
    faster cameras, and the iPhones will come with
    Apple's new iOS 8 software, featuring a new
    HealthKit application. Both iPhones will be
    available Sept. 19 in the United States and eight
    other countries. The 16 GB iPhone 6 will be
    available for 199. The 64 GB version will cost
    299 399 will get you 128 GB. The iPhone 6 Plus
    will start at 299. Apple is still ironing out
    the details of its new smartwatch, which is
    scheduled to be available early next year. Its
    design and fit seem solid but many of the actual
    tech specs are still unknown.

  • Anyone have free time Wednesday and Thursday to
    help build a playground at Snyder-Girotti
    Elementary School in Bristol? Just show up at the
    school, 450 Beaver St., any time after 8 a.m. and
    youll be put to work. About 200 volunteers are
    already on board for Friday, the final day of the
    build, organizers said. When the playground is
    finished, the kids will no longer have to play
    inside or in small outdoor areas around the
    school during recess.
  • McCafferty Auto Group president and owner Todd
    Buch announced his retirement Tuesday, and said
    longtime shareholder Fred Beans has become the
    majority owner of the business. Buch has been
    with McCafferty for 30 years, the last 21 as
    president.
  • Emily Gallagher, 14 years old, of Warrington has
    landed the title role in Disneys Alice in
    Wonderland, Jr. at the Walnut Street Theatre.
    Disneys Alice in Wonderland, Jr., a one-hour
    musical, opens Sept. 20 and runs through Sept. 28
    at the Walnut Street Theatre, in Philadelphia.
