The Lower Brain

• Thalamus Sensory switchboard (4 of 5).
• Hypothalamus rage, pleasure, hunger, thirst,
  sexual desire
• Limbic System basic emotions amygdala and
  memory hippocampus.

• Reticular Activating System Net that
  catches/sends nerve impulses from the spinal
  chord and vice/versa. Alertness, breathing, heart
  rate.
• Cerebellum balance and coordination

• Neuron dendrites, axon, axon terminal, synapse,
  neurotransmitters, myelin
• Neurotransmitters acetylcholine-movement and
  memory dopamine-movement (schizophrenia)
  endorphins-relieve pain and give a sense of well
  being.
