• The largest earthquake in the world was in Chile
  on May 22, 1960. It measured 9.5 on the Richter
  scale.
• When an earthquake occurs under the ocean, it can
  cause a tsunami. Tsunamis are large, ocean waves
  which can cause extensive damage along the
  coastline.
• Earthquakes occur on the moon. They are called
  moonquakes.
